The story of John & Aisling’s beautiful Holford Estate wedding…
We were so excited to photograph for the first time a wedding at The Holford Estate, Plumley.
John and Aisling lived outside the area and after having seen the images on our website, got in touch with a view to booking us to photograph their wedding at The Holford Estate as our style of wedding photography was exactly what they were looking for.
The morning of the wedding…
On the day we arrived at The Holford Estate bright and early so we could catch some shots of the bridal and the grooms’ parties as they made their preparations.
John was getting ready at The Mill on the Holford Estate and was in good hands with his groomsmen while Aisling and her bridal party were getting ready at The Barn on the Holford Estate and Aisling looked stunning in her Stephanie Allin wedding dress. Everybody was in good spirits and we spotted a little champagne on hand to help things along!
Once ready the boys (who looked very handsome in petrol blue three piece suits) walked up to impressive lane to The Barn for the ceremony.
Now, to tell you a little more about The Holford Estate. It is a privately owned event venue surrounded by 130 acres of beautiful countryside sitting just outside Knutsford in Cheshire. It was really was the perfect venue for John and Aisling’s big day. The exclusivity of the venue and its picturesque surroundings gave us so many opportunities to take stunning photographs of the happy couple and their guests.
The weather on the day started off showery but that soon passed and was replaced with glorious sunshine and white fluffy clouds albeit a little breezy.
The Ceremony and Drinks Reception…
The ceremony took place in Holford’s recently restored 18th century barn and was conducted by registrar Karen Dowding. We love all the details at weddings that tell you something of your bride and grooms personalities and this was definitely the case with the readings that Aisling and John chose for their ceremony. ‘A Marriage’ by Mark Twain was read by Joe (Aisling’s brother) and ‘He’s not perfect’ by Bob Marley was read by Amanda (John’s sister) and gave the ceremony a wonderfully personal and authentic tone.
After the ceremony there was a fun confetti moment before Aisling, John and their guests enjoyed an elegant drinks and canapes reception on the beautifully manicured lawn with musical accompaniment from the Lochnager Ceilidh Band.
The Beautiful Wedding Marquee…
The wedding reception itself was held in a gorgeous marquee in the magnificent gardens of The Holford Estate. Catering was provided by Samuel James Events with drinks provided by Escapde Bars. Take a look at the images of how stunning the marquee was dressed – it looked amazing.
After the wedding breakfast everybody spilled outside to make the most of the late sunshine. The evening entertainment started with a fun throwing of the bouquet, the cutting of a beautiful cake made by Claire Green Cakes. Then it was back to the Lochnager Ceilidh Band who saw that everybody was up and having a go at traditional Scottish dancing. It was so much fun! The DJ from Mark Peter’s Promotions picked things up from there and ensured the dancefloor stayed packed for the rest of the evening.
A gorgeous, stylish and personal wedding at a stunning venue. Congratulations to John and Aisling for getting married and allowing us to tell the story of your day.
We’ll finish this post with what John & Aisling had to say about their wedding photographs.
“Thank you so much for the wedding photos, they’re brilliant! Exactly what we wanted.”
John & Aisling.
